The City of Hart is the county seat of Oceana County, just off of US31 between Muskegon and Ludington. This charming agricultural community is warm and welcoming; small enough to keep your doors unlocked and big enough to keep you active and engaged. Hart is the trailhead for the William FIeld Memorial Hart-Montague Trail, one of the very first Rail-to-Trail projects in the state of Michigan. This gorgeous, non-motorized trail just completed a head-to-tail refurbishment in 2015 and is a hiker’s and cyclist’s dream! Hart Lake is quiet and peaceful, a favorite of fishermen and the home of a family of American Bald Eagles. Many locally-owned restaurants and unique shops are within walking distance, or a short car ride. Venturing out from Hart will take you to the Silver Lake Sand Dunes, Pentwater, and the Charles Mears State Park on majestic Lake Michigan. Click on the web links below to learn more!
